An update to the blog that never gets updated and when it does get updated, the topic is totally different. :)

Merry Christmas virtual visitors... if you guys even exists hehe

Update? Nah

Still no motivation finish my RX-78 unfortunately. Still busy with Anime and games. :)

I also think I would need to buy a new airbrush as I may have stepped on it accidentally. :D

Friday 18 November 2011

And I'm back!!

Well, I didn't really go away, just didn't have time to continue making em gunplas. The RX-78 is still in the same condition from 3 months ago.

It's tough being a gamer, an avid anime fan and a gunpla hobbyist but I suppose being a gamer and watching anime comes first for me. And with Battlefield 3 being released, I've gotten less motivated to get my gunpla done. :)

Hopefully by the time I get my BluRay copy of Unicorn Vol 4 in December. I'll get my motivation back. :)

For now, I'm happily gaming(BF3, MGS HD Collection, FFXIII) and watching anime.

PG RX-78-2 Gundam 30th Anniversary EX Finish - Head Unit #01

So I finally started doing my Perfect Grade one. I have to say, it looks really nice.

The inner stuff of the head.

All the parts without the armour. As with all PG version (afaik anyway), all head unit lights up.

Full assembled. Light switched on. I turned off the flash of my camera otherwise you wont see how it looks.

Same thing with the light switched off.

I've finished doing the right arm but I wont put it up until I've done the left arm. :)
It's looking really good and to be honest, I kinda like it more than my old PG Astray Red Frame at the moment.

I've got some new pens too but I'll post it some other time.

Sunday 7 August 2011

More Kotobukiya. 2nd post already?

Well, I quickly went to Dalong's website to check his version of the Noblesse Oblige and he/she actually has one luckily.

Just wanted to show/compare how it looks without all the panel lining I did to it. Luckily the one on his/her website doesn't have any panel linings.

Quite a difference w/o panel lining.

It's August and it's done!!

That's right, my CR-Hogire Rosenthal is finally finish.

I suppose I couldn't be bothered posting bit-by-bit updates about it. Probably wont be doing it anymore but we'll see. I do change my mind very quickly.

Anyways, here's the finished model.

By the time I took this, I still haven't finished the 2nd gun. The problem is, the gun is made out of only 3 or 4 pieces of plastic so I had to actually (and properly for the first time :)) use a masking tape. The golden parts on the gun as you can see aren't separated from the rest.

Here's another one I've taken. Weird pose I know. I'm not used to making poses because every time I do, some parts keeps falling off. :)

Here's one compared to my MG 1/100 Shin Musha Gundam. When I first finished the legs on the Rosenthal, I thought it was going to be bigger than the MG.

And here's the last pic of it. Complete with both guns. Was so relieved when I finished it. :)

I'm now planning to do my PG RX78-2 Gundam. Even though I've got 4 or 5 more gunplas that I bought much earlier than the PG, I kinda don't feel like doing them... for some reason. Might have to do the Strike Noir first before I do the Sinanju(I want this one to be properly done, so I'm keeping it for now until I get used to doing airbrushing properly)..

X-Japan came and went

So I had the chance to finally see them perform live here in London. They started off their European tour here which was pretty awesome. One ticket seller nearly botched it for me though... f**kin bastard.

Anyways, when I arrived at Shepherd's Bush Empire, I was surprised how long the queue was. I was in it for an hour or so and people still kept coming. I would've also loved to get one of those X-Japan tees but there was another queue for that so I said f**k it.... but I kinda regret it not buying them now. :)

This was printed red on the black t-shirt.

If they ever come back again in London, I'll definitely get one t-shirt for sure.

Oh and their new single Jade is out now... I'm waiting for a new album cause I'm not really into singles.

More Kotobukiya soon. :)

Noblesse Oblige #05

Been a while. Too lazy to post updates.

I've done a fairly bit more these last 2 days.

This is the foot part. I have to say that it feels much stable than the gundam ones.

Some decorations I guess... luckily I bought a heat gun to dry the gold part quickly.

These little bits were such a pain in the arse to panel line.

Here's the to-be-assembled and assembled legs. Looks really nice even in RL. :)

And here are both feet/legs standing. Can't wait for it to finish.

Well, I stopped using my sis' DSLR again as I find using my Arc somewhat better with the correct exposure settings.
I've done the head and the body part already but will post that some other time... hopefully in a few days instead of after 15 days.

Noblesse Oblige #04

I was actually going to post this yesterday but I was so into building the model I didn't bother posting. :)
The current section I was doing were the lower feet which looks quite awesome with all those small gold pieces mixed into the white/black plastics. I have to say white/black/gold are pretty cool looking colour combination.

This part is I believe some sort of knee armour that is sticking out... if you check the finished model and look from the front, you'll see.

Back of the lower feet. I somewhat melted another part again with the heat gun
You'll find it if you look harder. :)

Just like the pic above but more small stuffs added.

Top piece: all three pieces put together

I'm continuing it today until before I go to sleep in an hour or so. Will post whenever I feel like it as usual.

Learning Japanese

I've been trying to learn japanese for the longest time now and never really got used to it mostly because of the software I've downloaded("free" mind you :)) lacks something that makes learning, interesting.

Now, I thought I'd give it another try and since I got an android phone a few weeks back, I searched for "learning japanese" on the droid market and found this software called "Human Japanese".

The free version goes only up to chapter 8, last time I checked. But the full version goes all the way up to chapter 40, learning kanji and other stuff. All for the price of only £6.09. You can also get the trial version for PC and the full version is USD19.00... so that's about £13(?).

This software actually made me get a piece of paper and a pencil to get familiar with and write hiragana. I only do bit by bit a day 'cause if I do more, I'd definitely forget all about what I learned. Currently on chapter 4, learning the t-series as the software calls it.

Noblesse Oblige #03 - finally

Continuing from more than a year ago here: http://msmav.blogspot.com/2010/02/noblesse-oblige-02.html

I had some runners that I actually airbrushed, some just primed and the rest with no paint at all. I just don't feel like airbrushing them for some reason.

The two arm parts from last time are now now connected as you can see from the pic. Also added some more stuff on it (weapons?).

The parts below are for the legs. Having looked at the complete model, they seem to be the thigh protector/armour. I do some panel line on them every time I finish a section from the manual.

These parts are also for the legs. The top one is t he completed section and the bottom part are the pieces still to be put together.

This is now the combined parts from the above. I'm still "no good" at panel lining. The few mistakes I made on the lines are quite noticeable and it's quite hard to fix them because.... I don't really know how. :)

The next section will be the lower part of the leg so I'll probably be doing that either tomorrow or whenever I feel like doing it... as usual. :)

Noblesse Oblige continuation + PG RX-78-2

That's right... I finally got up and looked for the missing piece from the Armored Core plamo. I kinda misplaced the construction manual for it but I luckily found it.

Also, I got a new plamo to work on... probably after I finish the Noblesse Oblige or maybe in-between. I recently bought a Perfect Grade Gundam RX-78-2 "30th Anniversary Model Extra Finish Version".

Bought it from a good ebayer in Japan at a decent price. Thanks to him again.
Highly doubt I will do any painting on this one. The runners are just like the MG Shin Musha "Sengoku no Jin" I did, molded in gloss colours. Not sure how I'll do the panel lining yet though.

Bacho Blue Destiny Gundam #06 FINAL

And so I finally finished reworking Bacho Blue. It took a while and I'm quite impressed with what I did to it. I could've posted an update yesterday but you know. :)

Here's the pic I took yesterday when I've done putting the gold colour on the sword.

And here's the finished, painted Bacho Blue and the older picture for comparison.

I used my sister's DSLR camera so you'll see some difference in quality.

And that's it. I don't think I'll be able to continue with my Noblesse Oblige plamo for some time as I have mentioned before, there's one piece of plastic missing and I haven't really searched for it yet. I might start with the MG Gundam Noir though.... we'll see. :)

Pic taken from www.1999.co.jp

Edit: This was posted some 2 or 3 weeks ago, seems after I edited it, the date changed to today's.

Bacho Blue Destiny Gundam #05

I felt like continuing it so I did. :)

The first white coating actually looked quite good but since I have another type of white, I wanted to try it out. It's pearlized white so it looked more glossy... I quite like it though but it's a tad bit dark. Next time I'll mix it with the white coating I have.

Not sure if you can notice the colour but it has definitely changed. The other 2 pics that I took looked quite bad so I wont put it here.

As usual, if I don't get lazy tomorrow, I might be able to finally finish it. Otherwise, give it 2-3 more days. :)

Anime

Just started watching a new anime series. It's called "Nyan Koi".

Here's a summary taken from ANN: Junpei Kōsaka is a second-year high school student who despises cats and has an allergy to them. It just so happens that his high school crush is Kaede Mizuno, a girl who adores cats. One day, while walking home from school, Junpei kicks an empty can and unfortunately beans the local neko-jizō-sama (guardian deity of cats). He finds he can now understand what cats are saying, including his family's own ill-tempered cat, Nyamusasu. However, if he does not grant 100 wishes from cats, he will turn into cat
himself.

Love it, watch it. :)

I was going to continue colouring Bacho Blue but it was raining pretty hard yesterday when I came, I just didn't feel like doing anything at all... but I'll continue it today and hopefully finish it by tomorrow or the next day. If I don't get lazy, I might post another update in a few hours. Otherwise, it'll be tomorrow.

Friday 6 May 2011

Bacho Blue Destiny Gundam #04

Finally an update. I was actually off work for 2 days but laziness took over as always and just ended up re-watching Naruto Shippuuden from episode 157 where Konoha was attacked by Pain.

Well, early this morning, I just decided to continue with this one. Only thing I've done is primed the surface though. Nothing much really. They were the leftover white parts so once I'm done painting them, I'll be finish with it.

Took some pics using my new phone. They look good enough to me. :)

Edit: The formatting looked horrible after posting it with small thumbnails. So had to redo a few times.

Xperia Arc Battery

Got home about 4 hours ago. Was so tired I fell asleep for 2 hours.

As posted earlier, the battery of the Xperia Arc seems to drain very quickly probably due to some software bug(my guess anyway). I looked around and found that there's a simple way to fix it.

Before, the battery would drain about 10% every hour in which case, the phone would only last in 10~11 hours. Now to remedy that, simply before you unplug the charging cable, press the home button to "activate" or "switch on" the phone screen and do not unlock the phone. Only unlock it after you pull the cable then restart your phone. That's it.

If my phone's fully charged, it'll stay @ 100% charge for more than an hour which I find pretty neat.

Now as for the Bacho Blue update, I'll probably continue doing it on my days off which should be coming soon, or whenever I have time(not being lazy).... whichever comes first.

Xperia Arc

Right... I'm posting this using my phone :-)
I haven't actually posted this before but I recently got a new phone which is, as the title suggest, the Xperia Arc.

Been having a bit of battery problem for the last 2 days and since last night, I think I found a solution on the WWW. I'll post it here when I get back home... for anyone actually visit this blog and has the same phone. :-D

Sunday 1 May 2011

Just posting

No update today... well... except for this post. :)

Still trying to get rid of the paints and stickers. My fingers are now getting dry because of the paint cleaner. Will probably have them done tomorrow or the next day assuming I don't get lazy.

I've also started watching a new anime series called "Darker than Black". Yes, it's not new but I haven't seen it and has been on my watch list for a very long time. Currently @ episode 10 and have to say that it's quite decent but not for people expecting a story from the beginning. You could say it's a 2-episode story.

I wouldn't recommend to people with weak heart. :)

Bacho Blue Destiny Gundam #03.1

I tried to remove the old paint and stickers on the pieces and they were quite tough to do especially the gold ones. Some were hard to reach corners.

Noticeable but good enough. :)
The golden line that is visible is painted on the depressed(lowered?) part of the piece so I can't be bothered to remove it.

Bacho Blue Destiny Gundam #03

Right.. I just primed all the blue parts I had for this model and put a black colour coating on top of it. Looking good so far. Gonna leave overnight to dry 'cause it's getting quite cold again here in London. I might have to go and buy a heat gun as I heard it works quite well and fast for drying paints. Will take some pictures once I re-assembled them.

29-04 Edit:
Right... so the colour has settled in. Today I went to B&Q and bought a Heat Gun to use for drying paint. Now I tried it on one of the parts and me being a noob, I nearly deformed and melted the piece.

Luckily that side is the inside part
so it's hidden between the legs.

Bacho Blue Destiny Gundam #02

I just started painting it with blue and I have to say that it looks pretty neat. I'm going to put another blue coating on it in about an hour as it currently looks too dark blue.

The picture doesn't show it but it's a tad bit more darker than that.

Edit: This is the finished one. Somehow the camera shows it too dark. Oh, and putting another blue disn't seem to help... maybe I've done something wrong. :)

And yes, I messed up the red beard/chin thingy at the bottom. Since the whole head was in colour blue, I tried to cover the chin part with red Gundam Marker and as it turned out, oil-based marker on top of water-based colour doesn't mix well. I'm still a noob with these things. :)

Bacho Blue Destiny Gundam #01

So maybe not a "once a month" post. :)

I decided to put some colours on this already finished SD Gundam(my first gunpla I've actually built). IMO, it looks plain and simple compared to my recent ones.

Before: A few stickers, few panel lines and some painted parts with acrylics.

Golden parts with Gundam Marker.

I started with the head and airbrushed it black as base then sometime tomorrow finish it with blue. The small red and green parts, I'd most likely use the Gundam Marker for them.

The (maybe) once a month post

Right, so it's been a month since I last posted.

Been watching SD Gundam Sangokuden anime lately which made me want to start building my gunplas again. Unfortunately, a small piece of the Armored Core plamo has been missing for some time and atm, I cba to look for it so it's on hold for a bit longer. I might start doing the other SD Gundams that I  have though.... we'll see.

Motorcycle's doing great except for the bent radiator which is still functional(expensive to replace) and the few scratches here and there. I put this on the right side of the petrol tank plastic part to cover the big scratch.

GANBARE NIPPON!!

I had some extra reflective stickers so I cut them out. I copied the design I found on the web(I forgot which).

Saturday 26 March 2011

I'm mobile again

That's right, I can finally ride my motorbike again. So glad I didn't pay more or at least pay my own estimated amount which was around £1300.00.

I was most worried about the front right damper as I saw there was a nice straight crack in the middle but apparently that was part of the design. That part alone would most likely cost me around £250.

All is good now though, safe ride to me and everyone who rides motorcycles. Riding is fun but getting injured, not so much.

Oh and btw, I bought a new helmet as I don't want to risk wearing my old helmet.Shame because the old helmet was a limited edition of Rossi/AGV GP TECH that costed me £200 or so. One thing's for sure, I'm not giving it away. :)

No idea when I'll be starting building gunplas again but if I do I'll probably do one of the BB Gundams that I have.

Friday 18 March 2011

And I'm back again.

Been a while... posting again because I'm finally getting my motorbike fixed!! YAY!!

Unfortunately still, the driver who hit me was never found. May he/she/it rot in hell. I would have gotten it fixed sooner but I had a serious toothache 2 months ago and had to use the money for the treatment instead. Anyways, all's good now. :)

As for the Armored Core model I was doing, I'll most likely postpone for quite some time. I got pissed sometime last last year and sent some parts of the model flying across my room.

That's it for now.
Oh and here's a pic of my bike before I sent it in for repairs.
Yes I know it's not badly damaged.... externally.

Either way.... I also bought a new helmet as I don't want to take my chances with my AVG helmet. Having a fractured collar bone isn't a good thing.

EDIT: Oh and as for the stuff I said about not riding a bike anymore.... well... I guess I just can't give it up. It's like an addiction. I probably said it at the spur of the moment. So yeah, I'm going to ride a motorbike again.
